This Shevlin Park engagement session has been one of my favorites to date. Nestled in the northwest side of Bend Oregon, this park has been one of my favorites to photograph sessions at. I met Kara + Dee around golden hour and we adventured through the park, chasing any interesting light I could find.
I’m Nick, a wedding and engagement photographer based in Bend Oregon. I’ve traveled to over 20 states to photograph weddings since starting my wedding photo business, but I always love when I get to stay close to home to photograph weddings and engagement sessions. Getting to photograph couples in Oregon really does feel like a dream sometimes.
I’m really excited about how these engagement photos turned out! Scroll down to view more of the images from our session together at Shevlin Park.

I’m Nick, an intimate wedding photographer based in Bend Oregon! I photograph intimate weddings and engagement sessions in Oregon and beyond. Earlier this summer, I drove down to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon to photograph this magical engagement. And yes, there was still plenty of snow, so keep that in mind if you’re planning your engagement photos at Crater Lake as the roads into the park are only open certain months of the year.
After hiking half a mile or so on the Discovery Point Trail, I got to the proposal spot around golden hour. This is one of my favorite trails in the park I’ve hiked! The two mile roundtrip hike takes you along the rim and is the most accessible trail in the park year-round in terms of views. We caught near-perfect light during our session, and after photographing the surprise proposal, adventured through the forest and stopped at most all of the viewpoints along the walk back to the visitor center.
Sunset and “blue hour” is one of my favorite times of the day to shoot, if the weather cooperates, so I’m really glad we were graced with that sunset light! Check out some of the photos we got during their session below.

BEND OREGON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Being a wedding photographer based in Bend has been so fulfilling lately. I got to photograph this stunning backyard wedding this summer, and I’m so excited about how these photos turned out. Mariah and Timmy chose to get married in the backyard of her dad’s property in Bend Oregon, overlooking the Tetherow golf course and the Central Oregon landscapes I fell in love with when I first moved here years ago. Time seemed to really slow down on their wedding day, it didn’t even feel like work!
Mariah + Timmy spent their day surrounded by their closest friends and family, and the connection they have with each other really showed throughout their day and in the photos I captured. Scroll through the gallery below to see some highlights from their day!
