A trip to the grocery store is a photo series about 4 mundane but otherworldly trips to a grocery store in east iceland.  The body of work was conceptualized and produced during a repeated 82 minute round-trip ride from the village of Stodvarfjordur - where i participated in a one-month art residency - to the nearest grocery store.  Photographed entirely through the windows of a rusted, blue mini-van, a trip to the grocery store” carries an authentic quality that was intensified by the unpredicted, harsh weather we faced and the resulting rain splashed windows i shot through.  The series came to life after the realization that time is precious and rapidly fleeting from under our feet, and this simple trip to the grocery store became a reminder to slow down and enjoy every moment.
