Recently, I’ve been enjoying shooting some proposals around Bend Oregon.  There are so many good places to propose around here, but my favorite spot as of late has been Brasada Ranch.  I had the privilege of photographing a wedding there last spring, and had been dreaming of shooting there again.  Luckily, my dreams came true when Adam reached out to me about proposing to his now fiancé!  I did my usual, showing up early to find a good spot to hide out, testing the light and making note of compositions and photos I’d like to create after the proposal part.  I catch myself saying this often, but we really lucked out with a good sunset and caught some near-perfect light.  Scroll down to view some of my favorites from their engagement!

I absolutely loved photographing this winter elopement in Bend.  I typically shoot smaller, micro weddings here in Oregon, but I always get excited when couples reach out about elopement photography.  I also don’t typically shoot winter weddings, so that was a nice change. 

They wanted to get married with views of Mt. Bachelor in the distance, so I suggested we meet at the Dutchman Flat sno-park and walk a bit through the snow to find a secluded spot away from other skiers and snowmobiles.  We lucked out with beautiful light for their wedding!  They finished their ceremony with a classic snowball fight, which was so fun to photograph.

If you haven’t been to Smith Rock state park, it’s one of my favorite places to explore in Central Oregon, and so I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.  I get excited whenever I get an inquiry for a wedding, proposal, or engagement session in the park.  This time around, it happened to be a proposal.

I do a good amount of location scouting each time I find myself at Smith Rock, so I knew of a really nice, secluded spot in the north end of the park along the North Point trail.  We had the entire spot to ourselves, just as I had hoped!  After the proposal, we made our way to the south end of the park, stopping along the walk at the different, stunning view points Smith Rock boasts to take photos.  We lucked out with beautiful weather and light, though the wind was a bit much that day.  Take a look at some of the images I shot during their proposal below, and check out my Instagram to see more of my recent work.
